Errors in saving and submissions when students or faculty use HTML Creator when copying text in from MS Word. various faculty and students When you are using any tool that has a button to launch HTML Creator (whether or not it's to create a new HTML file, or to format text using various tools such as Discussions, Announcments, Assignments, etc.), do NOT copy/paste text directly from Microsoft Word into the HTML Creator box.

Instead, if you have existing text content that you wish to copy in, either copy and paste it into a text editor such as Notepad or Wordpad first, and then from there copy and paste it into HTML Creator. Better yet, just paste the content into the plain text box first and then, if you wish, format later by launching HTML Creator.

This is strongly recommended because copying text into HTML Creator from Word also copies in "junk" HTML code, which can impact students' ability to save or submit work in discussions, assessments, assignments, etc.!
